The Binghamton Visitor Center is the perfect place to begin exploring the culture, local heritage, and exciting activities that the community has to offer. Visitors explore the significant contributions this area has made to the industrial development of a nation through exhibits and a multi-media theatre presentation.

The zoo officially opened in 1875, and it is the fifth oldest zoological institution in the country. Exhibits include: The Rainforest Aviary, Cat Country Complex, Our Changing World and Penguin Exhibit.

In addition to showcasing the elegance and beauty of the Victorian era, the museum is home to an African gallery, open art gallery, Asian artifacts, a vintage barbershop, the Southern Tier Broadcasters Hall of Fame, and the Golden Age of Broadcast Media exhibit.

Our ethnic diversity is proudly displayed by the architecture and structures found on our city streets. We are also home to several gold domed and Ukranian wooden church. Tours can be arranged, for a fee, through the Preservation Association of the Southern Tier.

Visit an authentic, working cider mill and enjoy: The Farm Stand ~ which features fresh-from-the-garden fruits and vegetables! The Cider Mill Press Room ~ where we make our famous Cider Mill cider! The Cider Mill Bakery ~ famous for our fresh-baked donuts and candy apples!  

A 5 acre botanic garden featuring herb, perennial, annual, ornamental grass, vegetable and rock gardens; heath and heather displays.

The Endicott Visitor Center combines an historical museum, gift shop, community meeting hall and banquet facility. The graceful 16 room mansion houses exhibits that reflect the origins of Harpur College, the corporate leadership of the Endicott Johnson Shoe Company, IBM and the strong influence of the college and industries had on the development of Endicott, Johnson City and Binghamton.  In addition, the Center provides tourist information to guests.

Kopernik Observatory, sits atop a 1,720 foot hill in Vestal, has been the best sited and best equipped public observatory in the Northeast offering school, public and summer programs for students of all ages. See our website for more information regarding these educational programs.

This is a post-Civil War Victorian Mansion, and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Southern tier balloon tours offers hot air balloon rides from Otsiningo Park in Binghamton, New York year round.
